    The cybersecurity landscape in 2024 is marked by several evolving and alarming trends. One of the most prominent is the rise of large-scale Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. These attacks, often coordinated by state actors, exploit the vast network of connected devices (IoT), creating massive botnets capable of overwhelming targets. With the number of IoT devices expected to double by 2026, these attacks are becoming more sophisticated and difficult to defend against.

  Another key trend is the increasing use of AI-enabled cyberattacks. AI is now being used to automate and scale assaults, including highly advanced phishing campaigns. Tools like deepfakes further complicate the threat landscape, as they can generate convincingly deceptive content, making it harder to distinguish between real and fake communications.

  Ransomware continues to evolve as a significant threat. In addition to encrypting data, cybercriminals are now exfiltrating sensitive information, holding it hostage with the risk of exposure if ransoms are not paid. This dual-threat approach, combined with hackers exploiting regulatory vulnerabilities, has made ransomware a multifaceted crisis that requires comprehensive defense strategies.

  Lastly, there is a growing emphasis on skills development in cybersecurity. As threats become more complex, organizations are shifting from reactive measures to proactive monitoring and anomaly detection, aiming to detect potential issues before they escalate.These trends underscore the need for more advanced and holistic cybersecurity measures in the face of ever-evolving threats

This designation emerged from the unique case of a woman from Guadeloupe who is the only known individual to possess this rare blood type.
